Writing an E-MAIL

OPENING:When writing an e-mail you must consider a list of issues before starting: Who are you writing to? What is the purspose of your mail? What points must be issued in the writing task?. Brainstorm and organise your ideas.
BODY: Bear in mind the main purpose of your mail. Then, develop your ideas and support them with examples from your general knowledge or personal experience. Also, when suggesting, give the reasons that back your suggestions.
CONCLUSION: Conclude with a formal (Yours faithfully), semi-formal (Yours sincerely/Kind regards / Best wishes) or informal (See you soon /Looking forward to hearing from you/ Keep me posted) goodbye line, depending on the recepient.

E-mails are a very common communication tool nowadays for both, formal and informal situations. Remember to use the appropriate register in each case. Doon't forget the basic: a consistent line of thoughts and exposition with cohesive devices, connectors and linking experssions.

Unit 2 task: page 27. Write an e-mail in 120-180 words. Topic set in the task.
